Kid's Own Worship Image Trinity’s children worship in their very own service while the adults have a “grown-up” service at 11 a.m. in our sanctuary. Two separate services, appropriately called Kid’s Own Worship, are available for children aged 2-year-old through those in second grade.

Kid’s Own Worship I is held in the downstairs Doves classroom and is open to our 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds. It’s easy to find with a big doghouse showing Theo, the Kid’s Own Worship mascot, on the wall to the right of the door. Children can go there directly after Sunday school or parents can drop off their little ones before the 11 a.m. service begins. Tiffany Suggs, assisted by adult and teenage volunteers, welcomes the children and involves them in a special worship session with age appropriate stories, games, songs and activities. Pagers are available in the nursery for easy communication if desired.

Kid’s Own Worship II is for 5-year-olds through 2nd graders and is Imageheld upstairs in a big bright yellow room. These children attend the beginning of the 11 a.m. worship service in the sanctuary with their families and are dismissed after the singing of the first hymn. A parent volunteer and a teenage assistant then walk them upstairs to the KOW II room to enjoy a special worship time filled with stories, videos, songs, games and other activities.

Adult and teenage volunteers are always needed to help with our Kid’s Own Worship programs. It’s a wonderful way to serve God and get to know our little ones. You don’t have to be creative, we have materials for you and they’re easy to follow. If you’d like to help once or twice a quarter, please contact the church office at 248-2194.

Serengeti Trek - Where Kids Are Wild About God! (2005) Trinity United Methodist Church was crawling with excitement recently as our children (and 60 teenage and adult volunteers) went on a Serengeti Trek.

Each day, kids sang catchy songs, played teamwork-building games, nibbled Watering Hole Snacks (lunch!) and took on a Daily Challenge to take God’s love into their homes. They experienced exciting Bible adventures, collected Bible Memory Buddies to remind them of God’s Word and created Bible Point Crafts to take home and enjoy. Everyone studied stories about Bible characters who were wild about God. WOW!

Plus our kids, and our entire congregation, joined nearly a million children in North American by taking part in a hands-on mission project called Operation Kid-to-Kid in which we collected school supplies for children living in Africa.

We concluded each day in our fellowship hall with The Mane Event – a celebration that got everyone involved in living what he or she had learned.

Serengeti Trek was packed with fun! We hope this memorable week has enabled Trinity to share a little bit of God’s love in our community.
